Why convert GIF to PNG?
Both GIF and PNG use lossless compression, so the conversion mainly changes compatibility, not quality. The main reason to convert GIF to PNG is compatibility: PNG opens in every browser, image viewer and design tool without a plugin, while GIF doesn't always. If you're sharing a file with someone else, sending it to a tool that expects a specific format, or archiving it for the long term, PNG is usually the safer target.

No, not by default. You choose a retention window at upload — immediate, 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days — and the file is permanently deleted after that.
What is GIF?
Legacy animated/static format with limited color depth, still widely used for short loops.
Will my converted file have a watermark?
On the Free plan, PNG output includes a small "Converted with Convyx" mark. Pro ($9/mo) removes it, along with the 25 MB file size cap.
What happens if a conversion fails?
You get a clear error message and the job is marked failed in your history — we never silently drop a file. Retry is one click, and nothing is charged against your quota for a failed job.
