What actually happens to your file
Convyx re-encodes with libvorbis at quality level 5 (roughly 160 kbps variable bitrate). Vorbis is typically more efficient per bit than MP3's codec, so the OGG output often comes out smaller than the source MP3 at comparable perceived quality — though re-encoding one lossy format into another can't recover detail the original MP3 encode already discarded.
