Why convert ODT to Markdown?
Both ODT and Markdown use no compression scheme of its own, so the conversion mainly changes compatibility, not quality. The main reason to convert ODT to Markdown is compatibility: Markdown readable on virtually any device, with or without the original app installed, while ODT doesn't always.
