Why convert RTF to EPUB?

Both RTF and EPUB use no compression scheme of its own, so the conversion mainly changes compatibility, not quality. The main reason to convert RTF to EPUB is compatibility: EPUB readable on virtually any device, with or without the original app installed, while RTF doesn't always. If you're sharing a file with someone else, sending it to a tool that expects a specific format, or archiving it for the long term, EPUB is usually the safer target.

Your file, handled carefully

Uploads are encrypted in transit and at rest, processed in an isolated job, and deleted on the schedule you choose — as fast as immediately. We don't index, search, or share files between accounts. Read the full security model →

Frequently asked questions

Is converting RTF to EPUB free?

Yes — the first 50 conversions every month are free on any plan, including RTF to EPUB.

Will I lose quality converting RTF to EPUB?

EPUB is reflowable e-book format. We use the highest-quality encoder settings by default so visual or data loss is minimized.

Do you keep a copy of my file?

No, not by default. You choose a retention window at upload — immediate, 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days — and the file is permanently deleted after that.

What is RTF?

Rich Text Format, a portable formatted-text standard.

What happens if a conversion fails?

You get a clear error message and the job is marked failed in your history — we never silently drop a file. Retry is one click, and nothing is charged against your quota for a failed job.
