Why convert WAV to AAC?

AAC uses lossy compression, so expect a noticeably smaller file than the uncompressed WAV original, at some cost to quality. The main reason to convert WAV to AAC is compatibility: AAC plays on virtually any device or app without an extra codec, while WAV doesn't always. If you're sharing a file with someone else, sending it to a tool that expects a specific format, or archiving it for the long term, AAC is usually the safer target.

Uncompressed PCM audio, the studio standard.

What happens if a conversion fails?

You get a clear error message and the job is marked failed in your history — we never silently drop a file. Retry is one click, and nothing is charged against your quota for a failed job.
